There are two different ways a clone may be artificially created. One way is called Artificial Embryo Twinning and the second is called Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer.
Artificial Embryo Twinning
Artificial Embryo twinning mimics the way identical twins are formed.
The fertilized egg is place in a petri dish and separated into two different cells then placed into a surrogate mother to fully develop.
Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer
Somatic cell nuclear transfer is taking somatic cells from one mammal placing them in liquid nitrogen that will convert the cell to have a usable nucleus that will be placed in an egg cell that has had its original nucleolus removed. The new egg cell will be stimulated to start growing and will be placed inside a surrogate mother for further development.
